A thick walled cylindrical vessel with internal radius r1 = 0.25m and external radius r2 = 0.35m, has rigid end plates welded to its two ends (Fig). It is subjected to a tensile load F=1000kN through the end plates, a twisting moment T = 100kN-m, and internal pressure P = 60MPa. Determine the principal stresses and the absolute maximum shear stress on the inside surface of the vessel. Neglect the end effect.
