At a point in the cross section of a loaded member, the maximum principal stress is 150MPa tensile and maximum shear stress is 80MPa. Using Mohr’s circle, find

(a)  the magnitude and the nature of direct stress on the plane of maximum shear stress;

(b)  the state of stress on a plane, making an angle of 30o with the plane of maximum principle stress.
