Question

It is desired to maintain a room at temperature of 20⁰C when outside temperature is 30⁰C. The volume of this room is 300 m³. The pressure in the room and outside is 1 bar.

1. The air in the room is renewed completely in 1 hour. Calculate the mass of air that the air conditioning system pumps into the room.
2. Compute maximum possible C.O.P. of this A/C system.
3. When this A/C system is switched off, the temperature inside the room reaches 21⁰C in 20 minutes. Calculate the amount of heat transferred from the surroundings to the room.
