A pitot static tube is inserted into an airstreams of velocity U0 pressure 102 ´ 105 Nm-2 and temperature 28oC. It is connected differentially to a mercury U tube manometer Calculate the difference of mercury levels in the two limbs of the manometer if the velocity U0 is

        (i) 50 ms-1   and   (ii) 420 ms-1 

Take the specific gravity of mercury as 13.6 and for air $\gamma$ = 1.4, R = 0.287 kJkg-1 K-1
