A single cylinder engine working on the dual combustion cycle has a bore to stroke ratio of 0.5. The compression ratio is 16 and the pressure ratio during constant volume heat addition is 1.8. The cut off during constant pressure heat addition occurs at 6 per cent of the stroke volume. It may be assumed that air is drawn into the cylinder at 1 kg/cm2. The adiabatic index during compression may be taken to be 1.4 while that during expansion may be assumed to be 1.35. Assuming diagram factor of 0.85, determine the bore and stroke of the engine if the indicated power developed by it is 160 horse power at 1500 rpm.
