A heat pump operates between two identical bodies. In the beginning, both the bodies are at the same temperature T1 but operation of heat pump cools down one of the body to temperature T2. Show that for the operation of heat pump the minimum work input needed by the heat pump for unit mass is given

 

 

 

Where, C is the specific heat of bodies. Discuss whether the system satisfies first and second law of thermodynamics or not.
