Statement for Linked Answer Q01 & 02

Consider a steady incompressible flow through a channel as shown below.

The velocity profile is uniform with a value of u0 at the inlet section A. The velocity profile at section B down stream is

  1. The ratio $\frac{V_{m}}{u_{0}}$  is

      (a) $\frac{1}{1-2\left ( \delta /H \right )}$                                                        (b) 1

      (c) $\frac{1}{1-\left ( \delta /H \right )}$                                                         (d)$\frac{1}{1+\left ( \delta /H \right )}$

2 . The ratio $\frac{P_{A}-P_{b}}{\frac{1}{2}\rho \mu _{0}^{2}}$  (where PA and PB are the pressures at section A and B respectively and r is the density of the fluid) is

      (a) $\frac{1}{\left ( 1-2\left ( \delta /H \right )^{2} \right )}-1$                                                (b)$\frac{1}{\left ( 1-\left ( \delta /H \right )^{2} \right )}$

      (c) $\frac{1}{\left ( 1-\left (2 \delta /H \right )^{2} \right )}-1$                                               (d) $\frac{1}{\left ( 1+\left ( \delta /H \right )^{2} \right )}$
