Two gears mesh externally to provide velocity ratio 3:1. Both the gears have standard addendum and pressure angle is equal to 20°. Determine minimum number of teeth on the pinion to avoid interference. Instead of using a pinion of these numbers of teeth another pinion having three teeth less than the above number is to be used. Determine the minimum amount of stubbing of gear teeth in terms of module which is to be done now for this pinion. The velocity ratio is to be maintained same.
