In order to increase the rate of flow between the reservoirs by 20% it is decided to lay an additional 0.8 m diameter pipeline from the upper reservoir. The second pipeline is to be parallel to the original pipeline and is to be connected to the latter at some suitable point. Determine the point of connection, assuming that the friction factor is 0.04 for each pipeline. Neglect minor losses.
