A jet of water with a velocity V1 (Figure shown below) and area of cross-section A1 enters a stream of slow moving water in a pipe of area A2 and velocity V2. The two streams enter with the same pressure P1. After thoroughly mixing in the pipe the stream emerges a single stream with velocity V3 and pressure p2. If there are no losses in the flow, determine (p2 – p1) for V1=20 m/s, V2 = 10 m/s, A1 = 0.01 m2, A2 = 0.02 m2, density of water ρ = 1000kg/m3
