A plate is inveted to a channel section in a structure as shown in Fig. 4. An eccentric load of 12.5 kN acts as shown on the plate. Determine the rivet diameter so that the maximum shear stress in any rivet is not to exceed 40 MPa. Diameter of the rivet should be chosen from preferred series.
